CCSB & IGSB Courses

CCSB and IGSB are developing new undergraduate and graduate courses that emphasize biological complexity and large-scale approaches to attacking questions involved in complex systems and data analysis. Courses will provide a unifying perspective about the organizational principles of biological systems at different hierarchical levels of complexity. They will prepare students for future careers in modern systems level biology.

In 2010 the journal club course ISTP 30440 Systems Biology & Disease was offered during Winter Quarter. Participants included six M.D.-Ph.D. students and one senior undergraduate.

Recently offered courses at the University of Chicago were:

  • BIOS 20251 Introduction to Systems Biology
  • BIOS 28401 Introduction to Systems Biology II
  • BIOS 28407/HGEN 47300 Genomics and Systems Biology
  • CPHY 35000 Systems Biology, Self-Assembly & Complexity
  • CMSC 37720 Computational Systems Biology
