Education and Outreach
Overview
The Chicago Center for Systems Biology (CCSB) produces education and outreach programs for middle school and high school teachers and students and trains the next generation of systems biology scientists.
CCSB instruction in the art and practice of interdisciplinary research involves career development from undergraduate, graduate, post-doctoral stages through junior and senior faculty levels. In addition, CCSB provides outstanding opportunities for local community involvement in education and outreach programs. Offerings include summer courses, lab rotations, research experiences, and mentoring.
The Center makes a special effort to recruit and retain participants who represent underserved communities. Public outreach programs and research experiences enhance CCSB’s impact in the Chicago area.
